As fans know, Darcey and her twin sister, Stacey, have been constantly undergoing plastic surgery and beauty enhancement treatments, even though they were both naturally beautiful. However, now, Darcey has caused controversy over her alleged use of the weight loss drug, Ozempic.
In a recent Instagram Story, Darcey, 49, revealed her visit to a luxurious New York City medical spa. She confirmed in her Stories, “Just got my Ozempic shot, so excited. It’s going to be amazing and transformational,” adding, “It’s gonna help curve my appetite and lose weight.”
In another Story, the TLC reality star wrote that she is “feeling slim and healthy,” while being injected in the abdomen by a nurse.
Meanwhile, Darcey is the latest reality celebrity who has taken the controversial drug in Hollywood. Ozempic is an FDA-approved semaglutide, that was originally produced for sufferers of type 2 diabetes. The drug apparently works with the patient’s brain to reduce food cravings. Moreover, it makes them feel fuller quicker when eating while it regulates how the body stores fat and uses sugar.
While the drug sounds like magic, taking it is a very controversial way to lose weight. Terry Dubrow, the Botched doctor warns about the potentially dangerous side effects, including pancreatic and intestinal obstruction.
In a July 2023 interview with E! News, Dubrow explained that the drug is dangerous because people aren’t talking about the side effects. He also urged people to normalize Ozempic as the drug isn’t going anywhere, adding:
Dubrow then added that the drug “is the new Botox and it’s for obesity instead of wrinkles.”
As 90 Day Fiancé fans know, Darcey is no stranger to experimenting with different methods while changing her appearance. In March, she and her sister, Stacey, took a trip to Istanbul, Turkey where they underwent yet another round of plastic surgery.
While the Darcey & Stacey stars have received constant criticism online for the way they alter their appearance, Darcey has no regrets. Back in July 2021, Darcey told Entertainment Tonight that they are “better versions” of themselves, saying that’s how she feels, but it starts from within.
And going there together, as twins, we bonded more, like, it was a whole experience. And I feel like we had confirmation once we left Connecticut because we were getting all these amazing signs, we just felt very protected there, we felt the history, we felt, like, freed, we felt re-birthed.
Meanwhile, many of Darcey’s followers on social media openly admit that they are there for the comments. They do so as many others criticize the constant plastic surgery and treatments and the images, showing off the results.
