In Doha, Alia Rachid is building a design hub that she hopes will one day rival Milan Alia Rachid, the founder of Fromm, is a Qatari-based designer and entrepreneur who founded the luxury design brand in 2021. Fromm offers a mentoring experience that takes designers from concept to completed product, resulting in a collection of contemporary furniture, lighting and accessories sold under the brand. The company is located in the newly developed Msheireb district of Doha and has 11 creatives on the roster, including Alisha Alabda Alabta, Aisha Mohannadi, Alia Shawadi, Shawad Akhtar, Shahad Al Thani, and Maryftam Alfta Alwadi. Rachids was inspired by a meeting with the sister of Qatar’s ruling emir, who commissioned the M7 building.
